Do
I need Climate Controlled
Self-Storage?
Air conditioning helps extend the life of all your
stored items. Many of our customers have storage items that
should be air conditioned, including: computer equipment, electronics, leather, candles, wood furniture, delicate fabrics, pianos, books, pharmaceutical samples and important documents.
Fill Boxes To Capacity
Make the most of your packing
effort. Filling your boxes to
capacity may help prevent tipping or
collapsed boxes. Pack your
heaviest items such as books or tools
in small boxes. Avoid stacking
heavy items too high.
Wrap
Your Fragile Items!
Fragile boxes should be placed at the top of the stack
to keep them free from the weight of other boxes.
Wrap your fragile items with necessary packing material to insure their safety while in storage.
Labels
Make Storage Simple...
Clearly labeling your boxes makes
managing your stored items
simple. Making an inventory list of boxes
for quick reference will help you
quickly find the items you want with
little or no hassle.
Dust
Covers Recommended...
We recommend covering any open clothing,
mattress or box springs and upholstered items.
While we make an effort to provide you
with the best kept facilities,
dealing with some dust is a fact of
life in storage.
Stay
Off the Walls...
Leaving some space around the perimeter of
of your storage unit will help manage ventilation.
We recommend not stacking items
against the walls. You might
consider leaving a walkway to the rear of
your unit. It is OK to use all the space available, including the height of
your storage unit. Items such as bed
frames should be disassembled.
Removing table legs when needed can
help maximize your usable space.
Store
Priority Items Near the Door...
Consider placing
frequently
used and seasonal items near the
door. If you've ever had to
crawl over a pile of boxes looking for
that one missing box of holiday
decorations, you'll really appreciate
the value of priority placing your
items.
Don't
Be a Stranger...
It is a good idea to visit your
storage unit from time to time... just
to keep an eye on things.
